Nesting, Nesting, Nesting
I'm tired, sore and.....did I already say tired? We've been unpacking, painting Little Girl's room, trying to create space in closets that really don't have any to give and buying groceries for our new apartment and dropping around $100 to "pick up a few things" at the store. Yikes! Welcome to New York. Things ain't cheap here. Even with all the tiredness though, I have to say there is nothing I enjoy more than nesting and decorating a new space. It gives me a creative outlet (I only have a few abilities in this creative area) that I get addicted to once I start. I am doing Little Girl's room in the Shabby Chic kids line from Target. It's called "Fairytale" and it looks so, so cute! Little Girl is back in Missouri with Grandma and I am missing her big time. Creating this big girl room for her is both fun and a little sad. I am losing my baby slowly, but surely. I would like to keep her 2 years old (minus a few tantrums that still embarrass me to this day. Shannon - can we say "Bazzini's?") forever. She is so fun right now with her grown-up phrases and copy-cat attempts mimicking mommy and daddy. I am enjoying this time with her greatly. As I am sitting here in this New York apartment, setting up a home, I am having lots of time to think about my life and my daughter and how I want to raise her. Lord, teach me how to teach her. Show me how Little Girl receives love and let me always give it to her in a way that she understands. And, guide me in how to discipline her so that she grows up to be a godly young woman who also possesses a few manners along the way. Thank you for this daughter you gave me and thank you for this new adventure you are allowing me-moddy (read my first blog if you don't know what this means) to go on. Show me your plans and let me obedient in all I do.
