Pre-Mother's Day thoughts

I look around my house and I see the "toy clutter" and I trip over the same kitty cat stuffed animal nearly every morning that Little Girl drags into the kitchen as she greets me for breakfast. I stub my toe on Baby Boy's cars and I look at the kitchen table and wonder how it could be slimed AGAIN with yogurt and cereal bar crumbs.

I take my 2 kiddos up to bed for the bedtime routine at night and read stories and brush teeth and tuck softly into their beds - or I throw them in, but anyway.

I worry about them. I pray for them. I hope for them. I am in love with them.

They are the little people in my life that make me "Mommy".

I love Mother's Day. I treasure it not only because I have such a wonderful mother, but because I get to be among the troops that clean noses for a living and kiss scraped knees - and because I get to do it for LG and BB.

I went to a Mother's Day Tea at my daughter's school today and listened to my oldest sing a sweet song of love for her mother, along with her classmates and then she handed me all the handmade gifts of cuteness that she put together over these past few weeks.

Her smile made my heart soar a little bit and I wanted to package her up and thank her for just being her and for making all my dreams come true by being my daughter.

And then I came home and Baby Boy yelled "Ma-MA!" Ma-MAAA!" about 100 times and patted my arm as if to say "this chick is mine" and I felt all those warm fuzzies again.

Motherhood is tiring. Motherhood is 24/7. Motherhood is often times lonely. But one thing it always is, is Beautiful.

Remembering the gifts God gave me today in my 2 little gems.

It's gonna be a good mother's day.....plus I am hinting for a massage, so, ya know. :-)
