July 5th

It's July 5th! Woo! Hoo!! Who's excited? I know. It's actually kind of depressing like the day after Christmas, but I'm actually just thankful to be home in my jammies today and knowing that I am going to the gym to work off these that I ate a ton of last night.

Yes, please have pity on my very short flag, with an extra rouge red one at the bottom due to my miscounting. Trust me, my imperfections were totally made up for in taste. These were very yummy oreo truffles! For those of you who didn't see it, I linked to the recipe on Friday right here.

We had a great day yesterday just being a little lazy, filling water balloons, barbecuing with friends and setting off some sparklies in the sky. Here are some cute shots of my my kids in their festive gear these last couple of days.

And a few more.

Thank you Walmart and Target for providing our clothing this year. :-)

Little Girl was ALL ABOUT the fireworks this year and jumped up and down with giddy excitement as each firework lit up in the air. Baby Boy on the other hand wanted to sit on my lap with my hands over his ears while he exclaimed, "it's too loud!" "it's too loud!". He wasn't a fan. He told us he was DONE about 10 minutes into our festivities. He was a trooper though and hung in there with us until 10:00 p.m. and even did a sparkler or two which was fun.

The kids slept in until 9:00 a.m. this morning and I have to record this on here, because when I am old and grey, I want to look back at these blogs and see how much my children love their sleep! Maybe it will be hereditary and they will pass it on to their kids and all their friends will hate them too. Ha!

We have a busy day ahead of watching Olivia, folding laundry, washing sheets and heading to the gym. I'm tired already.

I may pop back in this week to share with you my new obsession - Bento Boxes. Have you heard of them? I'm planning on doing these for the kids' lunches this school year and see how it affects their eating habits, keeping them healthy, portion control, less waste and overall happiness because their lunches are so stinkin' cute. I'll keep you posted and share what I've found very soon.

See ya!
