Pre-Holiday Weekend Update

It is July 3rd which means it is July 4th - Eve. Ya know. Just like Christmas. Well, not exactly like Christmas, but I am excited about doing fireworks tomorrow and barbecuing with friends and dressing my children in nothing but red, white and blue and taking snapshots of their cuteness.

Yes. Tomorrow will be fun.

We started the festivities with Little Girl tonight, right after we put Baby Boy to bed and decided to do a few sparklers, a few bumble bee buzzers, a roman candle and a bottle rocket - just for good measure.

Oh and the "snaps".

You can't forget the snaps.

They are little but mighty and there is nothing that excites a little girl more than to throw those little white things on the ground and to hear that awesome POP sound!!!

LG enjoyed the small "teaser" display of fireworks we set off tonight, but there was also some clinging behind mommy and yelling "Be Safe Daddy! Be Safe!", and then giggles would follow and she would declare that she was only a little scared and she wanted him to do it again.

Baby Boy is 10 months old now and I still remember sitting in that hospital waiting room for what felt like an eternity waiting to hear that he was ours and we could go receive our SON. It was so surreal and such a whirlwind experience that I can't believe it happened nearly a year ago. I am in the beginning stages of planning my precious boy's 1st birthday party and we have to pull out all the stops because, well, first of all - he's so sweet and second of all - that's how we did it for Little Girl.

Gotta keep it equal.

Little Girl cracked us up today and scared us a little with her typical 3 year old (o.k. - nearly 4) fashion.

She is walking around with sidewalk chalk asking "mommy, do you know how to make love?"

Me and Daddy's eyes nearly popped out of our head as we spun around from our organizing project in the garage.

"Excuse me?" we both said.

"Do you know how to make love?"

"With the chalk? Can you write it mommy?

Love?"

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Cool.

That's what you meant.

Crisis averted.

We were about ready to do a friend intervention again. Yeah.

"Yes honey. I can write the word love on the sidewalk for you with chalk."

Happy 4th Everyone.

I will totally be putting up pics for you all to enjoy of my little beauties in the next few days.

That is hilarious! I love the 4th too and even though I'm chair bound, I'm still not missing out on the fireworks! Hey I want to hear about the food your making specially for the holiday. You always make the best food and desserts!
