So we are still trying to sell this sweet little house of ours that is a only a mere 9 1/2 months old.
Yeah. That should tell you PROFIT right there - shouldn't it?? Ha!
All joking aside - even amongst all this crazy and the transition that is my life - I see God. I can't say I see him during the crazies all the time - but I always see him after. I am who I am because of the different experiences I have encountered in my 30 some years of life and I am for the most part proud of who I am coming out as on the other side of it all. I have things to offer people that I didn't have before and my ability to relate is quite widespread. This is actually a gift - even though at times I feel like it's a bit of the opposite.
So, anyway, where was I?
Oh yeah. We're selling our house. This weekend we had an Open House and that just means pull out all the energy you thought you didn't have and clean this sucker till it shines. And We Did.
But not without drama.
Dave and I started cleaning on Saturday right after Big Breakfast and that's when it started feeling like our tasks kept growing. David was melting the butter that would go in our yummy pancakes and to finish them off - he stuck them on the griddle we have in the middle of our oven. It was in a ceramic ramekin and I guess he assumed all was well. I think the burner was on under the griddle though and may have gotten a little too hot for our sweet little butter. Right after Michael and I moved away from the oven - mind you - the butter exploded everywhere. Big greasy mess. Our island has painted drywall on the sides and it just absorbs oil and fingertips and everything else on it's flat-paint-surfaced-self like a sponge!!
Long story short. We had to repaint the drywall. Ok. Dave thought he cleaned it enough and painted it. Nope. Oil still showing through and now he has sealed that oil in with "Town Tan" paint. Awesome. Mr. excited heads to Lowe's to buy some "Kilz" primer to cover the side of the island and finally to repaint AGAIN the island.
Oh - and also the door coming in from our garage likes to swing a little violently sometimes and has put a whole in our wall a time or two, well, yeah, today we had a hole and David also had to work on patching that up, sanding it, patching it again, sanding, and then repainting it.
Our last fun for the weekend was to see that a pipe was dripping by our main water line under the stairs and next to where we have a rough-in for a water softener. It started out with some dripping and we put a bucket under it until we could call our builders (4 year house warranty is awesome) and then it went into spraying a bit and we had to call someone ASAP. We got a guy out here Sunday morning, so no church for us since Mak also had another slight low-grade fever on top of it, and Mr. Plumber man cut and glued and hacked away making a lovely smell in my house to replace the pipes about 2 hours before our open house.
Between the paint fumes, the drywall patching dust and the particles floating in the air from pipe being sawed on - it smelled like a fresh morning breeze. A dream for anyone to purchase such a "homey" little place.
Oh - and after I had gotten both my kids recovered the prior week from fevers and yuckies - Dave came home with strep throat. Sent him into the doctor on Friday and he got the much needed drugs to cure what ailed him.
DRAMA!
The only good news is that someone was here over an hour on Sunday afternoon and may be putting in a contract on the house in the next couple of days.
I hope it will all be worth it. I'll keep you posted.

Praying for that contract! And of course, laughing at all the drama. Love it!
Oh my goodness! A little too much chaos for one weekend! But of course you two handled it like pros. Hope to hear about a contract soon!
