The lessons of swimming

First off, there's nothing exciting in the meaning of that title, I just thought it sounded more fun than "Swimming Lessons", which is exactly all I'm sharing with you today.

Both kids took swimming lessons for 2 weeks straight, Monday through Thursday, from 10 - 12. We were ALL tired when those 2 weeks were over, but the results were awesome.

Little Girl has braved putting her face in the water and swimming like a little fish. She can sufficiently "dive" to the bottom of the 3' to get a prize off the bottom of the pool (which she has been terrified to do), and she has been jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side of the pool. So, so proud of her.

Baby Boy learned to put his face in a little more and blow bigger bubbles. He learned to "choo-choo" along the side of the pool with his hands to stay afloat, he can almost float on his back - all on his own, and he started jumping off the diving board too!! Crazy kid. I tell everyone that he thinks he's 4 too. He has a floatie thing on when he does his, of course, but still - a diving board? And he's not even 2? I call him genius. I'm just sayin'.

Here are some pics of my precious fishies at their swim class.

Here's a pic of Baby Boy doing what he does best - EATING -while watching sissy's stellar swim performance.

And......the boy's swim time with daddy in the pool that day.

O.K. - Last pictures. Here they are on "tropical island" day where they got to dig for shells in the sand and LG got to wear a little hula skirt.

We had so much fun watching the kids learn to swim and become more brave in the water. OH -and have I told you all that Baby Boy is talking up a storm? He copies everything we say. He laughs at us when we try to look stern and says "funny, mama. funny". and he amazes us every day with how grown up he looks and acts. He can call all my friends by name and say them clearly - especially "JULIE!!", which she hears yelled at her every time we go to the gym, and my friend Shannon. He likes to say goodbye to her about 1600 times when we leave her. Ha! He is still a very sweet boy and fairly obedient (for a nearly 2 year old boy) and I am so blessed every day to be his and Little Girl's momma.

And now that I have done yard work all morning in the heat - I think we need a swim!!

Swim lessons were one of the best things we've done for the girls. Haven't done the Bub yet. He kind of hates the water. Maybe next year.
Oh, and your genius Baby Boy might need to come teach Bub some talking lessons, we get a lot of "uh".

Looks like you are all having a fun summer. Glad the little fishes did so well in swim lessons! Cuties! LG's hair is always so cute. I need to learn some new up-do's.
