Hospital and Waiting

I'm sitting in the hospital right now with my sister.....the Labor and Delivery wing. Our plan is to see our sweet Cooper come into the world today and right now, all we have to do is wait.

I hate waiting. My stomach is in knots and I am nervous and anxious and excited and ready to see this little bundle we have been praying for, for so long.

As I have mentioned before, both my sister and I have suffered with infertility issues, so when she found out she was pregnant at this stage of the game (she has an 11 and 14 yr old) - we were shocked and ecstatic! Cooper is a little miracle and we know God has big plans in store for him in his little life.

Since my two bundles came to us through adoption, and since I have always lived in another state when my sister and brother's wife were having babies - I have never been in a delivery room before. Never. It's kind of weird. I have been rubbing her back this morning during her contractions and wondering where this day is going to take us. They whisked her off to have some jacuzzi time a minute ago, so I am hanging out in the room alone and hoping that Coop has turned for an easier delivery. I have so many emotions being here - not many of which that I could even put into words. God has been so good to our family and I am thankful every day for His blessings and His faithfulness.

I got in to town last night - with no children in tow, mind you - and came straight here to check on the patient. I hung out with my sister until 10:30 and then decided to go home, shower and get some sleep before my phone rang. Sleep was not had last night. Staring at the walls? Yeah - that happened, but no sleep. It was the combination of the Starbucks fully caffeineted beverage I ordered that night and the anticipation of today. I am tired to say the least, but I stopped at Starbucks again this morning to refuel and I also loaded myself with tons of magazines to read.

Well, the patient just returned and there is a strong chance I will be needing for back rubbing again, so duty calls. :-)

I don't have my computer here, so I will post pics when I get home this week, but don't worry, I'll let you know when my newest nephew has made his arrival!

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend. I know we will!
