Well, we did it.
We started the fall festivities this weekend and we did it by going to a local parade here in town with candy and music and fun costumes, and then we followed it up with a Pumpkin Patch.
Little Girl helped us search for the perfect pumpkins (one for each of us) and she did a great job selecting Baby Boy's. His was cute and little and round - just like him.
This place we went to had some of the best roasted ears of corn that I have ever tasted too. Wow! We opted to not have them dipped in butter (like some people we know. Ahem.) and they were every bit as creamy and sweet as you can imagine. We also sampled some pumpkin and zuchinni bread and we desperately wanted to taste some caramel apples, but the line was longer than my "to-do" list, so that was a no go.
We enjoyed the day with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed the 70 degree weather.
Perfect.
I will end this post with some pics and a question for you.
I need to know some of your favorite apples out there. I have always been a Granny Smith girl, but sometimes they can be a bit too tart, but I have yet to find one that has a really great sweet and tart balance. I heard something about a Honey Crisp apple that is kind of a new hybrid and supposedly really yummy. Anyone tried this? I need some apple help and quick. I'm going to an orchard this week. Any thoughts?
Help a girl out in need. C'mon. I need some fruit in my diet right now and these apples are calling my name. :-)

What a fun day! Super cute pics. I love love love me some gala apples - Anna and I are eating the stink out of our orchard apples this year. Fuji are good if you are putting peanut butter on them. If you don't do that- it is tasty and delicious.
I have to agree with Amber. My two girls love apples. I buy either Fuji, Gala or my personal favorite the Pink Lady. All very good and not too grainy, yuck. Granny Smith are a little too tart for my chicks.
Honey Crisp are amazing. Super crispy and sweet. My favorite apple orchard apple (not carried at grocery store) are Empire apples. By far the best apple God created! You must try one. We went to a little orchard last weekend her and I made a three kind of apple pie that afternoon and it was amazing!! Yumm, Did you know fruit desserts cancel out the calories?
You can't be talking about me dipping my corn husk in the yummy butter??? Seriously, it made it so much better and less fating. A little credit with the picking of the pumpkins would have been nice too. Trust me LG did a fantastic job but there was another amazing pumpkin picker there as well, ha.
what pumpkin patch did you go to? and what orchard are you going to? we went last year and we're going again this year. :)
Attention all readers: Edit this post to now say that Bekah Susa indeed did pick out 2 of the pumpkins that were aforementioned. I stand corrected. You rock Bekah. You really rock. :-)
There ya go sista!
So fun! And cute pics! Love the one of the kids in the pumpkins. We will be at a pumpkin farm this coming weekend, can't wait. I love everything pumpkin. Apples...I do love the honey crisp. Bought them for the 1st time last fall & they are yummy. But you can't get them year round. When we can't get those, I get Braeburn. I too always use to get Granny Smith. But by the end of the apple or before I was done. Look forward to seeing apple orchard pics.
I just got some Jonagold apples from an orchard and they are quite delicious. The orchard I go to allows you to sample the apples. Maybe you can get a sample before you buy your apples.
Fuji apples all they way. They are the perfect mixture of tart and sweet. Plus, you can buy them year round. Love the pics. Looks like you guys had so much fun. So sweet that LG picked out pumpkins for everyone. What an awesome big sister she is. BB is looking really big too. Not sure if it's your photo angles or he's growing at warp speed!!!
Oooohhh!!! I love all things fall. I am hoping to find something similar we can enjoy this weekend.
We bought some Fuji apples at a farmer's market a few years ago, and we have never gone back. They are by far my husband's favorite.
