This is what my week is consisting of.
Shopping.
Baking.
And Eating.
It's Thanksgiving after all, and if you aren't doing those things, well, then, what in the world ARE you doing? Ha!
Today was a fun day out with my MIL and SIL and Baby Boy. We headed down to our Outlet Malls here in town and literally shopped until we dropped. Little Girl had preschool and then my dear friend picked her up afterwards along with her daughter and let them have a playdate while we finished cleaning out the stores.
We are going to Disney World this coming January with the kids to watch daddy cross the finish line at his marathon. My friend suggested to me to go the Disney outlet store and pick up a few trinkets to bring with us and give out to the kids over the course of our time there, thus spending around $50 on toys instead of $450, like I probably would at Downtown Disney. Sooooooo - I did just that. I found LG and BB some of the cutest things to take down there. I got 2 stuffed animals, 2 new sippy cups, 2 play cell phones, dress-up clothes and a make-up and hairdo prep kit (all Disney characters of course). I am SOOO excited. I got several things on clearance, so that just plain makes me happy.
I also snagged myself a pair of skinny jeans from Gap (yeah - I'm do'in it) and a couple sweaters and stuff for myself. Now I just need some sassy boots that I saw my SIL get from Target and I will be good to go. I bought quite a bit of clothes for the kids and the hubby just got some clearance boxers from Nautica. What? Did you not need that information? :-)
I also found my Christmas jammies for the kids that I wanted to give them to open on Thanksgiving night. I found them at Carter's and they are very cute. I discovered that I can't send packages to our Compassion sponsor child - only money - so I'm not able to get her a pair like I thought. Bummer. We are going to start a letter to our little girl over in Indonesia and then on Thanksgiving night ask LG to help us finish it. The little princess overseas is named Septhalia and she is 4 like our princess here. She has brown short hair and beautiful brown eyes and I want to just squeeze her right through the picture on her profile sheet. Would love to hear if any of you sponsor a child and what that experience has been like for you. We are excited to start the journey together as a family.
Tomorrow is my baking day and I am looking forward to getting started. My MIL and SIL are doing quite a bit of the baking and cooking duties, but I will be hosting the festivities at my house and am planning on busting out a yummy pecan pie (topped with Andy's frozen custard), a sweet potato casserole and some mashed potatoes with about 12 lbs. of butter and cream. Holla!!!!!! I also saw a recipe for a pumpkin brie in pastry served warm with some little crackers I am thinking of doing for an appetizer. I don't have the time to list all the things David's family is bringing, but let's just say - we won't go hungry. :-)
Oh. Girls. Good thing we are doing the 5K Turkey Trot the morning before we devour all the food. It should totally counteract atleast, like, 2 bites of pie or something.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I started my Thankfulness ticker on the side of my blog. I would love to hear what you are most thankful for. I know what Shauna's is this year!!!!

Ok, I guess I have to say it eventhough you already know :o) I am very very thankful for my little boy coming home soon!!!
sounds like a yummy time!
We sponser a little boy in Africa. He's 7, like Dominic. The boys love to pray for him and write him letters. We even made him a birthday cake on his birthday this year.. .and sang to him then wrote him a letter telling him what we did and how we celebrate birthdays here. You know, you can send stickers and flat things in the letters you send. It's not as good as being able to buy them all the fun stuff... but I'm sure any little girl would love some stickers.
