You know you're _________ when.......

We just got home from a trip to see my family for the weekend. It was so much fun and the best part was that it felt like we had a lot of "no kids" hang-out time this trip and it was quite relaxing. :-) We ended up leaving one day early for the weekend because we had so much snow and ice predicted here at home that we were worried about getting stuck. And that just simply wouldn't work, because we had 3 major things planned this weekend. Me and David were getting a night out alone for his birthday, LG was going to see Sesame Street Live with her Aunt, and we were having Michael dedicated with a little ceremony at my parents house and my brother in law doing the ceremony and my Dad doing a blessing. Couldn't skip out on any of this because of weather. No way.

As I was thinking about the past 3 days and being with my family, I had to smile at all the moments there were. And, of course, that's where my mind started going to -

You know you're 4 years old and a little girl when you go to Sesame Street Live and say your favorite part about the whole night was seeing the snow falling outside when you left the building.

AND

You know you're an old married couple when the following 3 situations happen on your big night out on the town: 1. I tell David that I have something nicer to wear and I can go change before we leave and he says he does too, and then we look at each other and say together, "Nah" We'd have to go all the way back to your parents and you look fine. Yeah. So do you." Done. And, 2. You plan to go see a movie after dinner and then you start yawning so much that you realize that it may not be worth the money and you still have to stop by the grocery store tonight anyway, so yeah, let's just skip it. And 3 - After dinner, my stomach starts hurting and I feel super bloated so I whip out some Gas-X and take a couple pills to ease the pain and my darling husband says, "Pass me some of those too".

OLD. MARRRIED. COUPLE.

FOR. SURE.

And lastly, You know you're sisters when you are carelessly shopping at a Gap outlet store, with clothes to purchase in hand and you start chatting about a serious subject and both of you start sharing your heart, laughing and simultaneously crying, all the while ignoring the sales clerks that are passing you wondering if you are o.k. or if they should set up a counseling appointment down the street. And then you hug and try on clothes and have lunch at Panera.

Love this sister thing!!

Oh -and a final, final note. Ate breakfast with my mom, sis and sis-in-law at a place called The Corner Cafe. Oh. My. Word. It was some of the yummiest food I've eaten in a really long time. We polished our breakfast off with a HUGE cinnamon roll that we all split and it was soft and gooey and perfect. Definitely a highlight. So, I think I should end this post with one final saying.

You know you're having a bad weekend on Weight Watchers when you go to Corner Cafe and eat a Cinnamon Roll, French Toast, Eggs and Hasbrowns and feel like you didn't do "too bad" because you didn't finish it all.

Happy weekend everyone!
