Climb out of his crib.
This is how we found him one afternoon when it was close to nap time being over.

We are converting him into his toddler bed today. We are just going to switch his conversion crib over, because he will be getting a twin bed once we redo his room in the next few months.
We have been busy this weekend with projects. I know it's a shocker, but we are doing some different things on our house.
First, here's a sneak peek at our front door with it's new color.

I actually do not have a love for this style of door at all (forgive me if you have a door like this one. It's not that it's horrible, it's just not me). This is how we are making do with what we have. I have always wanted a red door, all the way back from when we lived in Virginia - I have loved them. They are very cottage/colonial (do those 2 things go together?) and I adore the way it looks.
I pray I feel that way when we hang ours in a few hours. Is everyone praying with me that I have this same love and not a gag reflex when I see my own door this way ? Thanks.
I also got this mirror from my mom and dad. It was left in the house they just purchased and had no need for it, so it was mine for free. Yay!

Ain't it purty?
I just took off the back of the frame and pulled the mirror out and painted it with chalkboard paint.

It took about 3 coats to make it completely black.
Then I painted my frame the same blue that is on my fireplace wall (since they are on opposing walls)
This is how my converted mirror - turned into a Chalkboard Menu Sign turned out for my kitchen.

Don't you love it?
I'm still having issue with the wall color in the kitchen, but I am still going to have the hubs hang the Menu Board tonight so I can enjoy my newest creation. We'll just take it down and repaint when we find the right color for this room. It's torture I tell ya.
I've been redoing my fireplace mantle for the 1600th time and I'm going to show you what I've done there later in the week. I'd show you now, but this post is getting long already. Don't you all have stuff to do on this beautiful Columbus Day? :-)
We took the kids on a hike this morning and enjoyed this awesome weather. I can't believe it's Fall and David just told me the countdown to Christmas yesterday. Seriously? One season at a time babe. One season at a time.
Are you guys doing any fun projects? Link up to your blog in the comments and show us, or just tell me what's going on in your world.
Oh, Lastly, I just put up a new recipe over at The Recipe Box. It's Pepper Steak over Rice. Go read and make it! Go!
See ya!
