I finally took a second to grab a few things that I have been wanting to glance at but never have time and I started getting all drooly and wishing I had more "fun" money that I could blow on every frivolous thing that my heart desired.
Who knew that Barnes & Noble could make me want to shop til I dropped?
I saw little organic "green" plates with food compartments for my nephew Cooper that I wanted to buy.
I saw bookends that were so adorable and unique that I really wanted to purchase them for the shelves that my living room will hold one day on either side of my fireplace.
I saw games for LG that she has been begging for every time she sees them on commercials on t.v.
And then there were the books.....and the magazines. Oh sweet heavenly glimpse of quiet time and thoughtful time and leisure time.
Here's what I wanted to buy TODAY, but I didn't. Dave and I actually have date night tomorrow evening, so I am pretty sure we will be heading back here and I will atleast get to look at my magazines, if not steal a couple of chapters in a book I am to thrifty to buy.
Choosing to See by Mary Beth Chapman - Have you guys heard about this one? Mary Beth is well known singer/songwriter's wife of Steven Curtis Chapman. They have 6 kids - 3 biological and 3 daughters they adopted from China. One of their daughters was run over by a car by accident last year (I think that's when it happened) and the person driving was her older brother. I can't even fathom how that has rocked their whole family in ways we can't even imagine. This book is telling her story of their life together in the good and all the tragedies. I want to read this. I've heard it's awesome.

Double Delicous - The newest cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld. Her first book was called "Deceptively Delicious", but this one makes me want to cook every single recipe in it. They are super healthy and they are easy and they look like things my kids will eat. I am buying this book. My taste buds require it. One thing that I have to make and I will definitely be putting on The Recipe Box is Pumpkin ravioli's. You just buy these flat wonton wrappers and make your own little ravioli's. When I lived in Washington, D.C., one of me and Dave's favorite things to eat were the pumpkin ravioli's you could purchase from the Eastern Market down from our house. It's Fall. I must bake. :-)

The Nest - A magazine I have heard about on several of the designer blogs that I read, but have never seen it. It looked full of good decorating tips and ways to make your home a cozy "nest". I want to subscribe. I need some inspiration. It was so fun even looking at this book for a minute. I need a job to pay for my decorating habit. :-)
Karen Kingsbury's newest book - "Unlocked". It's a spin off from her last series (Take One, Two, Three & Four). I won't purchase this one though. I'll be hitting the library all the way. I can't wait to read it!

Lastly, I found the newest Fancy Nancy book that Little Girl is in love with. It is a Christmas version, so I think I am going to put that down on my list as something to give her on Thanksgiving night. It will be a fun way to kick off the holiday season and this way we can read all through the month of December together.

I also got super excited when I saw they have a new Kids Program for the kids. Once you sign up (free), you get your first Children's book for 30% off, you get a $5 coupon every time you spend $100 and the kids get a free cupcake on their birthday from the cafe! How fun is that?!
All in all, it was a very eventful trip to the Big "Ol Bookstore of fun. Thankfully, I forgot my purse at home, so I didn't even spend money on a coffee this trip. David is thanking me for that as we speak.
Now you know all the things I will be asking Santa to get me for my stocking this year. :-)
