What a last few months.
What a last YEAR we have had in our home?
Do you all remember that we were actually (sorta kinda) living in New York at the beginning of this year? Then we sold our home in Missouri in 2 1/2 weeks in May and we moved to Indiana? Then we started building a house? Oh and we found out we were adopting our son? And, then we had to drive to a far away state to get him and then stay there for 2 1/2 weeks? Then a month later, David's sister got married and we were ALL IN THE WEDDING and so we drove back to Missouri for 2 days? Oh, and do you remember that Little Girl split her mouth open in June on an ottoman? And then a week later busted her eye open on the corner of a roll out cot in a St. Louis hotel?
Oh and then she fractured her collar bone in playland at church nearly 3 weeks ago? And then 2 1/2 short weeks later she falls out of the kitchen chair - ya know, doing something dangerous - sitting on her bottom eating goldfish crackers and loses her balance while being wiggly and BREAKS HER ARM!!
Is it just me or have we had some crazy seasons we've been in lately?
Jimminy Crickets!
This group could use a break. We could use a couple of major holidays to eat and be merry! :-)
Little Girl is doing well. She took pain meds the whole first day that they cast it (and had to re-break it - while asleep) and she hasn't complained much of it since then. My girl is quite the trooper!!
I will admit it was very hard for me to release my small 3 year old daughter to these strangers who were going to come at her with this big scary mask to "put her to sleep" - and I wasn't there to comfort her if she was scared.
Yuck. No fun.
But, it was over quickly and LG was ready to head home pretty quickly afterwards. She did throw up quite a few times on the way home from the anesthesia, but thankfully we had a trusty Dora the Explorer thermal lunch bag to catch the orange juice that the surgery staff gave her.
Orange juice stains go beautifully on a cream cardigan - don't you think?
Now my job is to just try to keep LG from acting too much like the wild woman that she is, but that is a losing battle I believe. Baby Boy just keeps growing and getting cuter by the day if I do say so myself. He is cooing so much and has mellowed out as a baby a ton in these last few weeks. He will be 12 weeks tomorrow. Wow.
Time flies when you are having fun.
Time Flew this past year with all our crazy activity.
Now - I want it to slow down over this upcoming year so I can enjoy every detail of my 2 precious children.
Here's my early new year's resolution:
No Moving, No Building a House, No Moving, No Broken bones, No blood coming out of the face, No major trips, No mounds of adoption paperwork (love the end result - hate the process! :-)) and No job and church changes.
Did I already say NO MOVING?? Forgive me if I did.
Enjoy the pics of the Prince and Princess.

Every time you post pictures of that baby I just want to kiss him, he is so darling. That big girl of yours seems to be doing fine with her purple cast. I think yours is bigger around than ours was. By the way, did you get a cast cover?
Adorable pictures! Love the chunky monkey one! Greyson saw the pic of LG in her cast and Cooper in his and said "no fair, where's my cast?" Poor kid has no idea you have to break a bone to get one. As much of a climber as he is, he'll have one too someday. I'm keeping your family in my prayers but I won't be keeping that "no moving" one in there. There always a chance God can use you here (down the street from me) :)
Girl. Seriously. You get the trooper of the year award in my book. Hoping and praying a very happy, but boring new year for you!
I got dizzy reading this, ha. Girl, I am hoping that the month of December is nice and relaxing for you:). At least everyone is coming to see you for the holidays!!! Love ya girl. Thanks again for being such a great friend:)
Darling pictures- thanks for sharing them!
Oh, what beautiful children! Now settle down and enjoy the holidays with them :o) Happy Thanksgiving!
It was great to see you last week! Wish we could have stayed longer....did LG catch a cold? I hope she stayed healthy - a broken arm is enough to deal with, huh? I wish I could have given you a funny story to write about like last time. No honking this time, just broken arms and kids with runny noses.
Hope you have a wonderful time with your family this week!
Oh yeah, I'm with Julie - I can't pray that you don't move again...it sure would be nice to have you back in MO! But you do have a great house in IN!
That website I was telling you about is adoptionlearningpartners.org
Love ya!
Looks to me like your Christmas letter is done! What a year!!!
