Oh the deep thoughts to ponder in this month of November. In the midst of all my thankfulness, I am also in the midst of my perpetual predicament.
Yeah. I'm talking about being a good little eater and exerciser.
2 kids makes me feel like I just want comfort in my life and all the joys of yummy chocolatey and holiday goodness that goes with that!
Can I just pose a question?
Is being thick around the edges so wrong? Isn't "love handles" an endearing term? Can't we just say Yes to Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshakes at Chik-fil-A and No to the Grilled Chicken Sandwich - hold the fries - add a fruit cup and make mine a water thing?
I know. I know. Healthy is good. Not healthy - really bad.
And, typically, I am all on board for this kind of lifestyle and is generally how I like to live my life. And, then, there's those other seasons where I think "fooey on broccoli and hello home-made grown-up mac-and-cheese from my french cooking school I went to in California."
Yeah. I feel this way.
Don't judge.
Ha!
Holidays will mess with your brain and make you think that all calories are ok because it's the holidays of course and you simply must partake in the binge eating we all know and love. I am spouting here, but I really do need to bring the reins in a bit and make a holiday "plan" to curb the joy and curb the festive eating so as to not make all my jeans cry in agony and defeat.
Yes- I am spouting here and, Yes- I am sort-of halfway kind-of kidding. :-) But - I really need to pull myself together before I do something drastic on this lazy Thursday afternoon where my husband is off work and we are doing a bunch of home projects and I feel a desire for chocolate coming in. Quick - somebody help me before I whip up a batch of my Marshmallow Chocolate Mud cookies! that I made and discovered in New York.
Hurry!!

Hello! My name is Rachel Smith. I was checking out other IN bloggers and came across your blog.
You have a lovely family!
listen, you live in indiana. it gets cold there. there is nothing wrong with od-ing on chocolate and cheese - you are just building up some blubber, which YOU NEED to stay warm for the winter. its like the bears hibernating. its all good. me and my double chin support your eating 100%.
I must say I can't do the holidays without all the holiday traditions and that includes all the yummy goodies I only get once a year.
Try to trick yourself with a little dose of the flavors you really want but in a healthier choice. Melt chocolate and drizzle it over banana slices, caramel apples are a favorite, and make fruit crisps with less sugar and a healthier oatmeal crust! Sorry that was all serious, but I have really had to work at tricking myself too. Sometimes I NEED a funnel cake, but most of the time I can fake my brain! Keep us posted, You can do it, Your a star, and you can be anything you want to be. Just thought I would throw out all my favorite lines of encouragement!
Deep thoughts for the season....
I say everything in moderation, my friend. A LITTLE chocolate never hurt anyone....
