The Week AFTER Christmas

Every family get together and eating festivity and celebration and gift giving moment has been had as of today. Memories were made this year and some were great and some were just stinky.

Little Girl woke up Christmas morning with a sick tummy and when we made the traditional red and green pancakes, with birthday candle included for Jesus' birthday, she cried and asked if she could NOT eat any pancakes that day. We were literally in the bathroom all day - with both ends fully functioning. Poor girl. We were at Grandma's all day and she let LG lay on the couch all day and watch movies. She didn't want to eat all day and opening gifts was a little uneventful for her too. But, thankfully, she was 100% by that night and even ate dinner with us. The next day was really fun because she pulled every toy out and wanted to play with it until her imagination was running out. She also wanted to make up for lost time with all the treats. Nice.

Baby Boy was feeling a little shifty as well for a couple of days, but he seemed to hold it together a little better. Both kids have been great the last 2 days and we intend to visit the land of the living out in the real world tomorrow.

Yay!!

I did hit Target yesterday to do my annual "look-at-all-the-Christmas-50%-off-items-and-buy-everything-in-site-for-my-surprise-for-next-year" trip. It was SO picked over, but I did get an adorable Christmas tea set for her to play with next year and a bunch of other miscellaneous items including 3 Christmas pillows for the living room. I hope to make it out to Pier One and Pottery Barn online as well to find some deals too.

I am hitting the gym tomorrow and also going back to counting my Weight Watchers points. I'm excited because I hurt everywhere. Can you say bloated?

I am watching Elf right now because we just found all our Christmas videos in our attic today (nice timing) and I never got to watch it this season. I am also getting ready to plan my menu for the week and prepare to take the kids out with me tomorrow to buy some groceries. No preschool this week for LG, so it's a 3 person event. Kind of dreading the drama that will probably ensue, but such is life. Ha!

I already made a peppperoncini roast in the crock-pot today for beef sandwiches, so that will get me through another lunch and maybe even dinner, and I am also thinking Chili and cornbread would be good. Naked Chicken burritos are also a really good WW meal because I just layer brown rice, black beans, corn, marinated chicken (marinated in italian dressing and taco seasoning), light cheese, light sour cream, avocado and salsa. I throw a few whole wheat chips in there for dipping and it also makes it more yummy for the kids. We all like that one. If I feel really adventurous, I could do salmon one night and make some sweet potato fries and steamed broccoli with a squeeze of lemon and s&p on top, but we shall see how it goes after looking at my recipes and my energy level.

Thanks for all the great ideas you guys left me to deal with the questions about the homeless people we see on our journeys each day. It really helped me and I am totally going to be using some of your ideas. I want to not only do what Christ asks of us to help the "least of these", but I want to show my children what kindness is with not only my words, but my actions. You guys had some really wonderful feedback.

The Christmas tree and decorations are SOO coming down this week. I am OVER Christmas the day after, if you guys remember, and to look at the decor now just looks like work to me, so they. must. come. down. Happy week after Christmas everyone! Hope your Holiday was great!
