April Foolsy!

I was never one of those kids who truly got into "April Fools Day" and the pranks that could then ensue. Now - don't get me wrong. I loved a good joke and was quite talented at pulling them off on random friends here and there, but not necessarily on the 1st day of April. Now that I am all grown up - I like the idea of incorporating those traditions I've mentioned in a prior post into even the little holidays and making them fun for Little girl. I would really like to be the "fun mom" - ok? I really do.

I ran into this idea in a magazine I read the other day and thought some of you might enjoy doing this for your family this year on April Fools Day. Here's a great "egg and toast" breakfast. Give it a try:

What you'll need:
1 (12 oz.) all-butter loaf or pound cake
Marshmallows
Vanilla frosting tinted yellow

Step 1
Slice a piece of cake for each person, and toast it until it's light brown. Cut "toast" in half diagonally.

Step 2
Stack two marshmallows one on top of the other on a plate; microwave on high for 5 seconds. Using the back of a spoon, spread marshmallows into a circle so they look like egg whites. Let cool.

Step 3
Grease an extra small ice-cream scoop. Use it to put a mound of yellow frosting in center of marshmallows. Arrange toast on the plate with the egg--and the prank is ready to be served!

Also - Here's a little shout-out to my favorite soon-to-be 9 year old nephew Ethan. He is our April Fool's Baby! Love you buddy!
