We're BA-AAACK!

Home that is.  Wow.  I can't believe we are finally back in Missouri and back in our big beautiful home.  Makenna is pretty thrilled too.  When I was explaining to her in New York that we were packing up our things to move back to Missouri, she started screaming and jumping up and down and spinning that "yeah!  I get to see my friends!!!!"  It was priceless.  It's amazing how much a 2 year old can comprehend.  It was kind of crazy moving back into a house we already live in, but the weather couldn't have been better.  It was 75 degrees on Sunday when my mom, dad and brother helped us unload the truck of goodies.  Our house already felt full of stuff even without the large semi being unloaded of more clothes, more shoes, more kitchen supplies and more toys! Yikes.  Where is it all going to go back?  How did this all fit in here before?  Yikes.  Well, our wonderful friends Jay and Shannon came over last night and helped us getting Makenna's room painted and ready to be set up for her big-girl bed again.  We are so thankful that they blessed us with not only their help last night, but Jay's sister Julie came by with their 2 kids and she watched them and Makenna in the basement for us while we were working.  Now that's a blessing!  We love our wonderful friends - even though they wouldn't know a soft petal pink color of paint if it hit them in between their eyes (inside joke.  Please don't ask).  :-)

Here's the update of our lives as of today:

I am back on Weight Watchers.  Hear me roar.  Also - hear the sounds of NY pounds melting away.

I received my dewey makeup that Carmindee uses and sprayed it on my face yesterday like a spray-on tanning salon.  I did like it quite a bit.  I did not feel "made over".  Better work on the clothes now.

We are unpacking from now until eternity (or so it feels) and putting our lives back together in Missouri.

We are facing big decisions in our life concerning our location and vocation.  Please, please pray God would knock us over with wisdom and that we wouldn't do anything foolish or anything that is not of his will.  David and I are currently fasting sweets and all junk food and are having specific prayer time every day to listen and hear God's voice.

No adoption news yet.  We have officially moved all of Makenna's baby furniture - crib, dresser, rocking chair, into the 2nd bedroom across from her room.  It is now in official "baby waiting" mode.  We have told Makenna that this room is special for a baby brother or sister for her and she is very excited.  She said "Please, please right now can we have a baby?"  I certainly wish I could grant this request.  We are anxiously awaiting that bless-ed phone call from an adoption agency or the miraculous 2 pink lines on a stick - whichever come first.  Please pray that our family would grow quickly and that the Lord would fulfill our heart's desires once again.

Lastly - I need an organizer.  I look at this house and all the paperwork that I can't find and the things I have lost and I need help!!!  My house is plenty big to find storage, but doing it in an organized fashion seems to be my issue right now.  Sue - how about flying here to Missouri and giving this house a once-over?  I'll buy you a Starbucks.  C'mon.  :-)  Ugh.

Well, that's the news from me.  Thank you so much for all you friends who leave comments. You make my day and make me smile when I see your words coming at me off the computer screen.  It feels like I've shared my life with you on the phone that afternoon and you are responding to me with encouragement and something to make me laugh.  You guys rock!

Uh. Oh.  I hear and see ice falling outside.  It looks like it will be a "shut-in" couple of days here in Missouri-ville.  Better go get some organizing started.

Freaky thing about Missouri weather- you never know whether it's coming or going. Hmm...sounds like someone else I know. Maybe you belong here! :-)

Kara,
How is it that so many times since we met, that I feel like we are in similar circumstances. God's special gift I guess to let me know that I am not alone. I will be praying for you guys. Sorry you are far away again. But one of these days we'll make it back to MO. Have fun organizing. At least the icy weather forces you to stay inside & work...as little fun as it is. Want to see pics of Makenna's big-girl room.
Love ya,

Kara,

Dying to see Makenna's room. I'm sure you guys worked really hard this weekend. God blessed us with awesome weather. I am praying for Baby Messner and that he/she or he and she will come at the right time. So glad you are back!

Shauna - We must be soul sisters then. Well - can't fight it I guess. I'm glad we met each other in our brief time in D.C. and have such an awesome continued friendship. We are connected forever by not only our friendship but because of the way God gave us our FIRST daughters. Our families aren't done yet! :-)
