Little Girl is at the age of cracking me up on a daily basis. I find myself laughing out loud more often with her and genuinely enjoying being with her (the exclusion to this would be at 2:00 p.m. on a Tuesday...full morning.....exhausted child....really needs a nap.....super, super wig-out cranky).
Yesterday we were jumping in the van and she had her trusty magnifying glass from Target that is Pink and has a sweet little panda bear on it - to spy for animals of course, and she dropped it, letting it slide right underneath our vehicle.
I told Little girl that it was far enough under the car that I would have to back up the van a bit to retrieve it.
She immediately started shrieking "Be Cay-wa-ful mommy! Be (careful)!"
Then she furthered her concerns "Don't let it poop on my toy!"
What?
She said, "Hurry. Don't let the van poop on my toy!"
Who knew we had a van that had bowel movements? We must've gotten a better deal on ebay than we thought!
Ah well. The magnifying glass was retrieved without any harm, and definitely without any poo.

I am so glad that you girls (minus Julie B.) already like Edamame and are enjoying their yummy goodness like I have been. I wanted to clarify that I DID actually have a bit of a hard time finding them at my normal grocery store and ended up going to Whole Foods to buy them in the freezer section. You can, however, also go to Sam's and buy them in these handy-dandy pre-measured pouches that you just pop in the microwave for a few minutes and they taste amazing this way! They even come with their own little packet of sea salt to sprinkle over them.
Anybody else know where you can get these more easily???
Next, My turkey burgers were mentioned a bit in the comment section, and I feel the need to pass that recipe out again. I actually just made these last night and enjoyed my low point dinner of a turkey burger on a whole wheat bun, with low-fat cheese and a bucketload of carrots and chipotle pepper hummus. It was all actually quite tasty. I polished my night off with an apple and some organic peanut butter to round off the ol' points calculator to a beautiful number and headed off to sleep.
Since I am in food mode here and this post is already seeming quite scattered and hairy - why not add to the mix, right?
Here is what my family used to make their trail-mix this year since some people asked about it.
1 lb. of each of the following. Mix it all up and divide amongst the troops.
Banana Chips
Walnuts
Almonds
M&M's
Peanuts
Craisins
Sunflower Seeds
Dried Pineapple
It actually could've used a little more sweetness with some extra raisins and also a few more m&m's wouldn't have hurt either!
Enjoy.

I usually get my Edamame at Trader Joe's, in the freezer section
Turkey burger recipe is now in my new recipe folder on my email so I can keep it forever- easy to fine! I will let you know when I try it- it sounds delicious!
I would also like to share my trail mix recipe....it's very simple. Here it is:
peaunut M&Ms
raisins
OR (if you're feeling crazy....)
plain M&Ms
peanuts
raisins
That's it! So simple and yummy....thank goodness I don't know how many WW points that is! Please don't bother enlightening me! :-)
Shannon - Thanks so much for that amazing recipe for trail mix. Your nutritional ethics and creative ways to mix things like peanuts and m&m's and raisins is very impressive. :-) You are my chef idol! Love you.
Ha!
I love this age (most of the time) with 2 year olds. Today, Mimes asked Greyson a question and he replied "Absolutely!" Adorable. Where did he learn that? What cute kiddos!
Those turkey burgers do sound yummy...thanks! How many points??
Alana - The turkey burger itself is 5 points and then whatever you want to add for your bun and cheese. I can get away with eating one for 7 to 8 points and it is so worth it!!!
So cute! I hope you were VERY cay-wa-ful. You don't want to run over the glass or scare the van into pooping. :o)
