Her future's so bright...

We are enrolling little girl in a tap/ballet/tumbling class coming up this Tuesday. She tried the class out last week and had the time of her little 3 year old life! She is a self-proclaimed ballerina and proceeds to twirl and pose and land on one leg and arm in an arched position looking very official and very "dancer-ish".

I get excited about enrolling her in classes. One of the things I pray for in her life is that she will find her passion very early on in life. Something she loves to do. Something she gets giddy about and can't wait to wake up for the next day in anticipation. I never had that growing up. I loved life. I loved God. I loved my friends, but no passions about a particular thing or hobby or career path. I don't like that. I wish I could've had someone push me to try new things and to sift through and see if there was something I could fall in love with.

Well, Little Girl has the whole world ahead of her and I am firmly in belief that she can be anything God wants her to be. I am never going to push her in a specific direction or pressure her into certain paths, but I am going to encourage her to try and try things until a light bulb clicks and her heart races with joy. That's what I want to see in my children's eyes.

So - maybe it's dance, but maybe just maybe...........................

It's a future as an artist.

Look what this child made on her own and drew for her daddy saying "look daddy - I drew you!"

It is complete with eyes, nose, glasses and go-tee. We were impressed. So far - she has already surpassed my drawing abilities which consists of a wavy stick figure with odd shaped legs.

Her future's so bright - she's gotta wear ................... ya know.

Can't you see the daddy resemblance in this photo? :-)

What a sweet picture! LG has such a bright future. I felt the same way reading this as you did. I kinda wished I would have been exposed to more things so I could've been passionate about some hobby too. Our kids have amazing opportunities. I'm just praying that they take them.

Hope everyone is feeling better!

Julie and I talk about this all the time. I want Anna to see that she has the world open to her and I want her to experience everything she can. One of the big reasons I am going back to school is so she sees that women can do anything that they want to do!
