We have 2 kids now.
I am buying diapers and formula like we are getting ready for Y2K again.
I feel I must dress both the children in the latest styles and the cutest things the stores have to offer every time they grace the public eye.
Little Girl demands things like snacks, yummy lunches and a warm coat and mittens every winter.
Baby boy thinks he needs more decorations on his nursery wall.
Mommy thinks we need to get blinds on all of our windows before the sun beams poke one of our eyes out around 3:00 in the afternoon.
Daddy wants us to buy a bed frame so that our mattress isn't on the floor anymore.
(Yeah - let that sink in. We have been sleeping on our mattress on the floor for about a year. Long story.)
Well, all this to say - we don't have a lot of extra money right now to go hog wild on Christmas gifts for each other (the hubby and me) like we usually enjoy. There are other needs in our life that take precedent to the fun and thrill of surprising each other, but there are other ways to surprise this girl ya know....
Here's what I am asking for this Christmas?
January For Mommy
1. 2 mornings to sleep in as long as my peepers wish to stay closed.
2. 1 homecooked meal by daddy that I don't have to be any part of.
3. 1 pre-planned date-night - babysitter included.
4. 2 evenings of daddy taking the kids out for a couple hours to "burn off energy" and leave me to my quiet house.
5. one 45 minute massage by Masseus (?) David.
Maybe this is a lot to squeeze into one month. There is a chance I can let him spill this over into February, but you girls get the point. These items are all free (minus the date night) and I am pretty sure I will be most excited to be receiving these gifts more than any single sweater and scarf set from The Gap.
Do you guys have any clever ideas for your hubbies this Christmas?

cute blog!
I really like your ideas. I am excited for my DH to actually take some days off during the holiday, for no other reason than to spend time with our family.
I'm stealing your ideas. A free night at home, just me, sounds great. I would love to sip some hot tea and catch up on my shows!
I think I'll have my husband read this post....
Kara! I love your list! I think you covered about everything that could be covered on that one!
I especially love the taking the kids out for a couple of hours. I realized the other day I am never in my house alone!! NEVER. The only time it's quiet is if I make myself get up before anyone else on a Saturday and have 45 minutes to check email or something.
Anyway...I hope you guys have a great Christmas!
