It's a Christmas Eve Post.
Things are busy around my house today. My husband's family is here including mom and dad and sister and her new hubby to boot and we are in the full Christmas Spirit.
Of course we are eating well - because we are Me***ers and that's what we do! We are baking and we are decorating and we are cleaning up the kitchen and washing dishes and playing with Little Girl and watching Baby Boy in his new Jumparoo Grandma bought him and then we are cleaning up toys and starting the whole routine all over again.
Little Girl got her cast off yesterday and I'm telling you it was my early Christmas gift. I have never been so excited to give her a bath in all my life. No plastic bag on the arm. No telling her to keep her large purple rock-hard cast on the side wall. No hunching over to try to clean every exposed skin part right up next to the stinky arm protector and, no keeping the bath to a quick clean, rinse and let's get out before my back breaks. We are back to the - throw some toys in, add some bubbles and let her sing and play and swim and blow bubbles for about 30 minutes until she is ready to be all scrubbed up and shiny.
That's my kind of bath time. I'm just sayin'.
I will show pics soon of her special cast removal day and of course her "cast-a-bration" Party. I told her we were doing a "cast-off celebration" when we got home and she kept telling people that morning that it was a "castabration". She was so good for the sawing off of the thickest cast in the universe and she seems to be mobilizing it already quite well.
Baby boy got his first haircut this past week too, so truly I have lots of news and things to share with my friends in the blogosphere. More on all of these memories later.
We have "The Grinch" movie playing in the background as the family moves about with their varying tasks and while the children sleep their little selves off into dreamland. I am thinking of tomorrow and all the fun little girl will have with the traditions and fun of Christmas morning and I am also thinking of how to incorporate Jesus as the most important part of our celebrations and teaching Little Girl how special this day is because Jesus came into our world as a baby and changed our lives forever. There will be red and green pancakes devoured tomorrow with little birthday candles and a song will be sung to our Lord and Saviour celebrating his birth, but I pray that there is so much more that I can sink into those sweet and precious heads and hearts about what Christmas really means to our family.
My MIL bought LG and BB the sweetest book. It's called "God gave us Christmas" and it so beautifully tells the story of how Santa is fun and he displays love and generosity as Jesus would want us to, but that he's not what Christmas is all about. It's such a sweet book and I plan on making this a cherished book that we will read to the kids every year.
Have a Merry Christmas Everyone! We're sending lots and lots of love from our house to yours and also the true meaning of Christmas.
Happy Birthday Jesus.

Merry Christmas, Kara.
I can't thank you enough for all the fantastic goodies you sent for my stocking. I hope your stocking was filled to the brim, too.
I've posted about it here.
Smiles to you and your bunch!
That was a lot of news to catch up on in one post! I have some major catching up to do on my blog! Glad LG is back to using both her arms for good and for mischief. Sounds like you had some great stuff planned for Christmas morning. Can't wait for more pix!
