I woke up today at 8:30.
I'm still in my robe and it's 12:00.
This the relaxing, laid-back, I-don't-have-to-go-anywhere-if-I-don't-want-to schedule that a stay at home mom comes to enjoy and love.
For the most part.
It's hard for me to say "Ok - I'm getting the kids up and ready and dressed and fed and all of that crazy" to get to the gym by 10:00. I usually make it by 11:00 when I try to do that.
I have my own pace and time in the mornings. I don't mind getting out the door on some days with a schedule and a purpose too. Don't get me wrong. I am a schedule girl. I love planning things out and I love having an agenda on most days.
But,
I will do it at my own cotton-picken' pace. Am I right?
Well,
The family went to a preschool open house this past week to check out the fun for Little Girl. She jumped right into the class greeting her possible new teacher with a "hello Mrs. So and So. It's nice to meet you." She headed straight for the toys and played and imagined and frolicked around like she owned the place.
Then she moved onto the coloring table and talked to children and drew a picture of herself - with a body including arms, legs, a face and hair. She's getting fancy if you ask me.
The teacher saw all of this activity and mentioned her maturity and how articulate she was.
Ahem. Thank you (I am making a fist, blowing on it and brushing my shoulder at this point.)
I was feeling proud and sad at her independence all at the same time.
She CAN'T WAIT for Preschool girls. I mean - she really can't. She would like to live there if she could, but I suggested sticking it out with us for the majority of the day - if she could bear that. :-)
I am pretty sure we are going to go with this particular school which is located at a local church and is right off the the highway so I can jet off to do my carefree errands while she is learning......well, with a 1 year old little boy that is.
So, I am going to enjoy my days where I don't HAVE to be anywhere - dressed, cute and ready to go by 8:30, because my world will be changing and once I start it - I can't ever turn back!
A new season of life and a new schedule.
Man I can't wait for our summer days coming up where all we have planned is hanging out at the pool and eating popsicles on the front porch. Love it!

Yeah, once it starts, there is NO GOING BACK! It's nice that you're enjoying every stage, Kara, and not trying to hurry on to the next one :)
Yes, ENJOY it...it really is a whole new world. Preschool is a good stepping stone to school when it is ALL over! ;) Don't you love my bright ray of sunshine hope in this area?!
