Valentines Day Prep

So, Valentines is a little over a week away and I *heart* Valentines Day. I didn't care an awful lot about it pre-children, I mean, it was nice to have an excuse to be given a gift and taken out to dinner, but I expect that on a lot of other days besides V-day, so no big difference there. :-) But, once I had children, I just got all giddy about having a day filled with "love-ly" activities and all things heart shaped.

Anybody out there remember the picture of my heart-shaped meatloaf I made for my family last year? Yeah. That's commitment right there. This year my hubs and I will actually be traveling to Dallas for 2 days over Valentines weekend and my parents are coming to take care of the kiddos.

So. Excited.

I am totally looking forward to my weekend away which will involve sleeping in, seeing old friends, eating out at some of my favorite restaurants (Maggiano's!!!!), shopping in Dallas and seeing a fun movie together.

But

I can't help but be sad I won't be with my kids ON Valentines Day this year, so I decided that I am declaring Monday - the 15th- our family Valentines Day and will resume all sickening-ly cute, heartsy-fartsy - totally fun festivities on that day.

One way I am making the holiday festive is that I decided to make this cute little heart garland to hang above my bay windows in the kitchen. Now, I am using totally different paper than they did, so I will make it a little more personal, and I think it will be adorable and fun for LG especially. Now, before you get all impressed and start calling me "crafty", of which I would have to start using phrases like "you are on crack. You need to see a counselor" and things of that nature, you have to know that it involves scissors cutting out heart shapes, some pieces of tape and a push pin.

This is totally my kind of project. I am not crafty. I will not accept the label. :-) Hee Hee

I was just thinking how excited I would be to take a picture and show you my final project when I realized.........

I STILL HAVE NO CAMERA!!!

This is slowly devastating me, but we don't have any money saved up for a new one and I am pretty sure my husband will not want to buy a cheap one. If it looks remotely cheap - he will run and run quickly far from it. High quality all the way for that boy. So, no camera right now.

I will just have to tell you how cute it is, or you will just have to come over to my house on the 15th and celebrate with us and probably be eating something heart shaped.
