I am not blogging at my sweet little desk with the new window over it today. I have meandered outside into the sunshine with some spf 4 - yeah, I said 4, on my legs and arms and I am soaking up a few rays. Oh, how I love the smell of sunscreen. I am listening to lawn mowers in the background and I have to say that I completely love that sound too. I love Summer. If only you could take all the heat and humidity out of it, I would want it year 'round. :-)
My children are trying my patience today. I love them dearly and seriously think they are God's gift from heaven to me, but seriously.

Let's re-group and think about the sunshine again. Ahhhhh. Much Better.
We are hoping to seed and fertilize our lawn next week (we are out of town this coming weekend for Easter) and then we are hoping to pull some weeds and watch some of our beautiful perennials come to bloom in this new house of ours. We moved in last September, so I haven't really seen my hydrangea bush looking gorgeous or my rhodadundrum (sp? not sure) with all it's blooms, or my azaleas or daffodils or, or..... I am a little excited. I love gardening and planting and growing things, but I've never really had a house that provided much opportunity. This one has a great canvas to start with and for that I am blessed and thankful. I can't wait to start planting some things in the ground with the kiddos and watching it grow.
Yay for Spring and Summer!
On a separate note - my momma sent me some birthday money for my big day of turning 34. Holla!! and I knew I wanted to spend it on something for my living room, but didn't know what, until I saw this etsy site. called Lettered Threads. I ordered a pillow for each of my big reading chairs. Here's the first one and I love it because we have 4 people in our family (currently) and I am all into numbers right now and decorating with them. Just look at Pottery Barn - you'll see where my obsession got started. And, here is the second one . I am having them monogram it with an "M" of course.....for mommy........or for Monday, or for our last name - whatever. Aren't they cute?? I am really excited and can't wait to add yet another layer to this room. I am not at that place where I walk in and feel rested because it is "just right", but we're getting there. So excited!!
To end this wonderful post, I have to confess that I got a yucky speeding ticket this morning. It was down the backroads right outside of my subdivision and I truly didn't know that it was 30 through there. I didn't!! Apparently I was going 42 and mentioning that I didn't know and that I was just trying to get my precious angel in the back (cue the smile sweetie) to gymnastics - didn't mean anything to the man in blue. Argh!!! Little Girl continually reminded me the rest of the way not to speed (fun) and that I should definitely tell Daddy as soon as I got home that I got a ticket.....for speeding.....and not obeying the law. She also seemed terribly troubled that I might go to jail. But, Not today honey. Not today.
