Kara's Cakes

Did you wonder all weekend?

Did you never think about it again once you clicked off my page?

C'mon. You were excited, weren't you.

I mentioned on Friday that Dave and I swung by The Metropolitan Grill here in town to get some Kara's cakes.

I mean, how often do you get a dessert named after you by someone you've never met? NEVER!

I knew that this was a twist upon the recipe that I had made. Mine was a homemade vanilla cupcake with home-made cookie dough frozen and plopped in the middle before being baked, and then homemade cookie dough frosting was lovingly placed atop with mini chocolate chip sprinkles. This restaurant owner decided to make a chocolate cake, made with an ooey gooey cookie dough middle and served warm as a souffle. How fun!

We swung by the restaurant (totally should've called ahead) and I believe me and the children waited in the car for 30 minutes. Not kidding. Little Girl kept asking me why I was saying "Serenity Now!" over and over.

Finally, Dave brought out our treat and we quickly shared with the children that they were only for mommy and daddy. No child taste-testing would be happening tonight.

I couldn't wait to dive into it and just see what it was all about and while David was putting children in bed, I cut it open to take a few pictures.

Look what I saw inside.

Yes, my dears, that's warm cookie dough flowing out of the center. And this dessert stayed warm and yummy all the way home. It was very different than the one I made, but I really liked this. It was a unique treat and it was surprisingly light. Is that possible? David and I both made the comment. It wasn't as sweet as mine either. Mine called for 100 sticks of butter and 100 lbs. of sugar, so that could've been the difference there.

It was a totally awesome treat and I was honored to eat a cake that had my name on it. If you live here in town - go get a Kara's Cake soon. You won't be sorry!!!

Have a great night.
