Oh the Fun.
Oh the pictures.
Oh the tiredness that I am feeling right now.
Would you believe that I have 241 pictures on my camera right now that need to be downloaded onto my computer and sifted through to share with all you wonderful people? This is all for one single child people. We have issues.
Little Girl had so much fun yesterday celebrating her "three-ness" and having all of the glorious attention focused on her. We took her to our state fair yesterday where she rode a roller coaster, the tilt-a-whirl (a bear thing) and slid down this crazy slide with her daddy and aunt on a potato sack. She ate the traditional corn dog as she walked around saying "yook! yook! AAhHHH!" She was so excited at all that she saw and experienced. It was a cool fair. We polished the evening off at a nice dinner where they brought her yet another sundae with chocolate ice cream chocolate fudge and whipped cream. You would have thought she was storing nuts for the winter the way she shoveled the ice cream in after I said "now, just a couple more bites and then I think we should be done!". She was like a Hoover vacuum.
She crashed into bed at the early hour of 8:30, only to rise this morning to another day of party, party, party. We invited several of her new friends and mommy and daddy's new friends to a spray park today to eat, play and open presents!
Little girl had so much fun that it was thrilling to watch her. She said all of her thank-you's to each of her guests with great gusto and threw her mouth open all aghast at each new surprise that awaited her inside the pretty packages. Some of her favorites today were this bubble blower thing that was shaped like a bbq grill and we opened that as the kiddos went wild. She also got a tu-tu and leotard for her gymnastics class that she will be taking this fall, a new baby doll, some books and well, just a whole lot of other cool stuff. We felt blessed today to already have such a great group of friends around us today to help us celebrate her birthday and to share in our family's life and milestones.
I laugh to myself thinking of all the funny things she has said this past weekend as I watch her grow up before my eyes. I can't remember a lot of them at this moment, but one funny thing does come to mind that I absolutely must share.
Little girl was eating her sandwich at the house (shredding it actually) and I said, "you stop doing that and start putting that directly in your mouth right now."
Her response was "No!"
I quickly responded back with the mom look and said "excuse me? What did you just say to me?"
And this child, this angel, looks right at me with the sweetest of smiles and says with great innocence 'I said YUM!!!"
Grandma and Aunt Jenn had to cover their faces from the laughter, and I will have to admit that I wanted to smile as well, but ya know, I couldn't.
I just kept on moving on that one and tried to hold it together as I considered how young this child is to be so smart already.
Okee-Dokee Then.
I shall work on downloading or uploading or transferring pictures now of these birthday festivities and then I shall share SOME of them with you soon.
Happy Weekend!

What a fun weekend! When all the festivities are over and all the sugar (that she isn't used to)is out of her system, she will be so tired she will sleep for days! I'm so excited and dying to hear if her being 3 is any easier than 2. (if not, just lie to me, please)
Hey Kara - would you believe our family went to your state fair last year? It was on a road trip we took last summer. The kids had a blast there! As for the discplining, we have been experiencing the same thing with Ella - we have to try not to laugh when Joel & Nina are disciplining her because we think it's so cute - and we want to "rescue" her :) Happy Bday to your Little Girl!!
Sounds like such fun! Anna is saying some funnies too all the sudden- she keeps us pretending not to laugh at her all day long!
I've seen that look! I'd say, "yum" too! She' a smart one!
