Oh Yeah. That was nice.

The family just left this morning and now that the fun is over, it's time to get back to real life.

My apartment is WAY past messy, both cars need an oil change, I have doctor's appointments to set up for all of us, I need to contact my insurance company on some pressing issues, I need to go work out, and go to the grocery store, I needed to get something in the mail, I have to contact my adoption agency, I need to fill out 2 boat loads of adoption paperwork (oops - have I not told the blogosphere my news yet? Guess I will let the cat out of the bag on a soon, but future post), I need to buy birthday presents for my nephews since we are meeting my family in St. Louis, MO this weekend for a birthday party extravaganza for all the kiddos that have August birthdays, I need to seriously clean out my bedroom and sift through the craziness, I need to work on my adoption t-shirts that David and I want to design, And, I need to set aside all the new boy baby clothes I have purchased, along with the package of swaddler diapers I picked up today and (oh wait, did I just say too much again? oh man - you guys really might be able to start reading through my cleverly disguised lines at this point!)

And, the list goes on and on and on.

So.

I was blessed beyond blessed when I was told of a sweet 14 year old girl who lives across the walkway at our apartment, and that goes to our church, would be able to come over and play with Little Girl while I worked on a few things.

She came over at 4:30 and immediately took the cute 3 year old outside to play with her new and very cool "Bubble Grill". If you haven't seen this thing - it is so stinkin' cute and Little Girl loves it!! Then, they played ball, ate a snack, sat in her new butterfly tent with a flashlight, played with her My Little Ponies and giggled all the while.

I, on the other hand, was mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, shaking out rugs, starting dinner and leaping over tall buildings in a single bound. The young teenager was so sweet and played to Little Girl's every request (her dream come true) and all with lots of energy and enthusiasm (something I lack on numerous days).

I have never felt so relaxed and "not guilty" when daddy walks in the door because the house smelled of yummy clean-ness and it also smelled of turkey burgers, edamame, and cinnamon sweet potatoe fries - plus, Little girl had a blast!

Yes - I'm a good wife.

Ahem.

Yeah. That was a nice afternoon. My burdens have been lifted and, by golly, I think I'm having her come over again on Thursday!!!

Your list of to-do wore me out I am going to take a nap for you. Remember it will all still be there tomorrow, so enjoy today!

I was a little tired out by your list. Then I looked around at my house, which has been neglected lately, and I became exhausted.

Yah! You found a "Miss Cyndi!" I was telling our Angel the other day that she has no idea how much she is appreciated and she probably won't know until she has kids of her own! Enjoy the time and next time don't clean, have some me time!

Just dropping by, found your via Alana's blog...what a precious daughter you have! She's gorgeous. I've enjoyed browsing through a few of your recent posts. Plus...you're from Indiana, which is originally my home state, so I had to come visit. :)
