Oh the bless-ed screened in patio

It was a short nap for Little girl today. Let's face it - it's always a short nap on the days when I say "I've got to really get a lot done while she is asleep".

It never fails.

It's just like when I thought to myself - in all my nesting this week - that, "I must go get the car washed, maybe I'll run it out to the station today and get it done along with vacuuming out the mess that is my van". Uh. Oh. Can't do that. It's getting super dark out and - you guessed it....

It's gonna rain.

So, the nap was short and I was concerned that all my momentum in picking up the clutter, mopping the floors and organizing the mounds of paperwork that includes our bills, adoption stuff, warranties, instructions for this and that, receipts we can't lose, and so on and so forth - would be lost and done.

But.

Little Girl wanted to play on the screened in back porch today which she hasn't done in awhile. I sent her out with only an old pink t-shirt and a Dora pull-up on to get to playing in the messy sandbox and blowing all the bubbles, and drawing with the sidewalk chalk and all the other filthy things that are there to play with and enjoy with her 3-year-oldness.

The blessing part of this adventure is that she doesn't require mommy to trudge out with her in the heat. She has been happy as a clam outside playing and using her imagination and talking to all her little friends that walk by. I, on the other hand, have stayed in my cleaning momentum and have actually gotten some things done today.

Score.

Daddy had to go to softball practice (yes - this is unusual and out of character) and will be back in an hour or so to continue the blissful family time that only comes about in such huge chunks during the weekends.

For now, I should go and finish my paperwork sorting and call it a day.

And, for now, thank you Lord for our screened in porch!

So you have a screened in porch at your apt AND your new house?? I'm having a little "screened in porch" envy.....

Oh, how I've always wanted a screened in porch. Sounds wonderful.

Sounds lovely. I must say my girls are big enough that I can send them out into the yard by themselves. I have a great view of them from the kitchen and can get all my kitchen things done while they play away.
