Nesting?? and a Girl's Date

I'm not sure what's it's called what I'm doing tonight, but I am cleaning out the closet in my hall between my kitchen and the garage that houses all things that get "dumped' when you walk in the door.

We refer to this "room" as the "cleaning closet". I guess it's because when we moved in we expected to place all of our cleaning supplies and such in wonderful neat rows in here, but that isn't really what it has ended up being.

It holds:

my purse
my aprons (I have 2, so don't get excited)
board games
bags of items needing to be returned to the store
my "moving men" that I use to slide under furniture when my big husky husband isn't around to help me move something
step stool
my Central Vac
extra bubbles
kids jackets and sweaters

and THESE

This is the part where I feel like I am "nesting" or something - although I'm sure that's not the correct word for it. I am prepping for my little girl to head off to Kindergarten for the first time, and for my little baby boy to head off to preschool 2 mornings a week. This closet becomes the HUB of prep and exit as we head out for school each day. I wanted to get this room all cleaned out and ready to go so that I felt more "ready" for the school days that are approaching in about 2 weeks.

WOW.

The other way I've been "Nesting" or Prepping, or Whatever, is that I took LG school clothes shopping this past week. My girl is growing like a weed and we have to start from scratch with her wardrobe almost every 6 months with clothes because she is growing so much. She is all legs and says she is "hungry" 18 hours out of every day. Baby Boy, who eats like a bird, is actually hitting a growth spurt right now too, because he is finally eating like a hungry little boy and telling me he is "starving". He is actually ASKING for food, which is new.

Another fun thing I wanted to do with LG before she heads off to five days a week of schooling, was to have a girl's afternoon. I wanted to take her to see a fun movie and to lunch. We picked "Judy Moody and the not bummer summer" which she LOVED and we got Chinese food. This child begs for Chinese food (particularly sweet and sour chicken) every week, so this was a fun treat for us.

We had a great afternoon while BB stayed with Grandma. It was a great memory making day.

We snapped a few pics at Grandma's when we did the boy's drop-off.

Ahhhhhhhh. Well, it's late, and I have some more purging to do out of said cleaning closet. I made a batch of baked peanut butter oatmeal the other day for breakfast that I can't wait to share. I look forward to getting back to a normal blogging pattern again. Are you ready? I'd love to hear from you! I hope you are all have an awesome Summer!!

Nighty-Night.
