It'l be 11 years in 1 1/2 hours!

I can't believe it, but today is David's and my 11 year wedding anniversary!  Crazy, huh?  I feel too young to be married that long.  And, yes, for those of you wondering, we got married when we were 15.  Ok.  not 15.  I was 20 and David was 19.  And, no.  Makenna will not get married that young.  I still remember that 1st year of marriage.  David and I moved to DeSoto, Texas so he could finish up school in Waxahachie!  That was the beginning of our adventurous life and travels.  I remember us moving there with no jobs and we were pretty much livin' on love and on faith!  We picked our apartment by looking at a picture over the fax machine (pre-internet craze I guess!!).  We both started applying for jobs, received random checks in the mail from anonymous friends of the family and spent our last penny as we received my first paycheck from my new job in downtown Dallas.  It was really amazing now looking back as the Lord has ALWAYS taken care of us and cared for us in such unique and detailed ways.  Another wild thing I reflect and remember from that year was that we chose not to watch t.v. for our first year of marriage so we could "get to know each other" and not zone out all the time in front of the t.v.  Doesn't that just sound like typical young idealistic love for ya?  hee hee.  Well, we did hold that commitment and we did come to enjoy it (after about 2 months of wanting to die.....literally of boredom in a new city.)  We ended up becoming quite creative with our time and doing new things like David taking an art class in the evenings and me doing more reading. It was really nice.  Don't think we are too amazing though because we've never done it again. I said it was nice - but we're not crazy people! :-) I've got a wonderful husband.  We don't always understand each other and we don't always get along and sometimes I yell to much (did I just confess that?), but we love each other.  We do. Even this past year we have been growing and changing as a couple into people I really like and enjoy.  I am honoring him more and loving him more now than 11 years ago today at 1:00 in the afternoon at a church in Missouri.  I love you honey!  Happy Anniversary!
