Peeing in a cup is not for 2 year olds!
Poor Little Girl. We thought our little darling had a urinary tract infection because yesterday she started screaming bloody murder when she tried to go potty, and then refused to go anymore the rest of the day! She definitely wouldn't let me look down there to see what was the matter, so I had to just assume it was an infection and therefore I called the doctor. Today was long.......there was screaming, crying, tantrums that were thrown - and that was just me! Oh my WORD!!! We went to the doctor at 11:20 this morning and I was pretty sure I was going to be trying to get my child to pee in this little cup while I am hovering over a nasty toilet B-E-G-G-I-N-G her to go ALL DAY LONG! I bribed, I pleaded, I begged, I did time-outs and she just screamed at me and said No!!! Now before you think I am heartless, she had already went in the potty twice this morning with no tears and I was beginning to think it was not an infection but just an owie down there. Her not pottying at this point, to me, seemed just like sheer defiance and control on her part. I don't enjoy fighting with a 2-year-old....it ain't pretty. I still hadn't gotten little sister here to pee by 2:00 when I finally just put her down for a nap out of sheer exhaustion. I tried to sneak a peek at the "pained" area one more time when she woke up and I saw she had a sore of some sort. We went back to the doctor with urine sample in hand (it never would go in the cup by the way - we had to saran wrap the seat thanks to Grandma's idea) and the doctor saw the little sore that came from a fall, a toy in the bathtub, an "itch" - who knows! Anyway - she is fine, but I get to fight her to put neosporin on it every day for a little while until it heals. Poor baby. Mommy asked for forgiveness a couple of times today due to my impatience issues - she says she forgives me. I pray I don't have to ask her to pee in a 2" diameter cup ever, ever again. Lord help me.

Poor little thing! Poor Mommy too! I can't imagine. What a day. Hope Makenna & Mommy are feeling better very soon. Maybe Mommy needs some chocolate.
