You've. Got. To. Be. Kidding!

My wonderful and sweet husband who enjoys doing really nice things for me took me on a trip last October to California for a little 3 day (no child) get-away in Los Angeles. The biggest treat of all was my surprise tickets to see, who else, but my man Dr. Phil. I was so excited to get to be in the studio and sit in on of his shows and watch him give some really amazing and life-altering advice to one of his victims willing recipients of change!! The studio was freezing - as we had been warned it would be, but it was thrilling none-the-less to see the whole stage and all the regular-joe audience members who were just like us sitting there on the stage I watch nearly every afternoon at 3:00. Dr. Phil was tall and friendly and warm and it was just fun. A comedian came out before the show to hype us all up and get us laughing hysterically about nothing so that we were nice and revved up and ready to cheer when the "Dr." came out. They were even giving out mugs and books and etc., etc., to the most excited-seeming audience members. What was up with that? I was excited. I was loud. But no mug for me. Boo hoo.

Well, my family and friends have been bugging me since this October day to see when "our show" would be airing so they could look for us. The producer wouldn't tell us when the show would be on, so we just had to basically "watch and see" were his words. I knew I couldn't have missed it because, like I said, I watch it every day and I always see the previews coming up and I can tell what the episodes will be to give my humble fans ample warning to, of course, record this show.

I have been a little busy with getting our house on the market and have been a little behind in my Tivo'd shows that have been recorded for my viewing pleasure, so I plopped down on my comfy green couch today and thought - "let's just get a little Dr. Phil marathon going on here." I start yesterday's show because it looked interesting and I realized because of the news that had cut-in we had torrential down-pouring rain and tornado watches and warnings all day yesterday and they were cutting out the Dr. Phil Show here. I kept fast-forwarding my Tivo thinking - surely they are just doing a quick update and the "regularly scheduled programming" would be appearing again soon! As I am fast forwarding, I can tell that I am 3/4 of the way into the show and I still hadn't seen what it was about until the last 10 minutes come up on the screen and I see the couple on t.v. that I remember seeing in the studio last October! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? This is MY show! This is the one I have been waiting nearly 6 MONTHS to see! All the opportunities for my camera-ready face to be seen by millions has been reduced from an hour down to 10 minutes!

Well, I start watching it and think to myself that maybe they will pan my way in this last 10 minutes. Unfortunately, this is yesterday's show, so all hope is lost to call family and friends to watch it, but at least I could see it on my own t.v. and save this bless-ed recording. I'm watching. I'm watching. Oh great. Perfect shot. I see right where my seat is and I see the guy next to me. I see the couple behind me and guess who is standing right in my way and blocking the view of both David and myself..............it's Dr. Phil!!! He is blocking us! Ok. Don't panic. I'm sure they will pan your way again and Dr. Phil will be out of the way this time. Oh. Yay! Here the camera goes. It's coming my way! It's coming my way! And then it stops and guess who gets caught in the shot for a whole 6 second clapping scene - David. David made the show. The girl who was there to see it and experience it and have her big t.v. moment - did not. Argh!!!! Heavy, Heavy Sigh. I am pouting now. It's official.

This is all I have to say to you my friends in the blogosphere today - What kind of sick joke is the universe playin' on ya when you are trying to be on t.v. and your local news breaks in to most of it, your show host stands in front of you and then your husband's seat gets caught in the final camera scene of the day? It's official. I need to pray more. :-)

Please feel sorry for me.

That is hilarious! I can't stop laughing. I know that you're not here yet, but one day you will look back on this and laugh too!

P.S. Don't let this go to David's head, you know...he'll start thinking he's the cute one b/c the camera loved him! Ha!
