1st Garden Harvest and a Recipe

I walked out to my garden tonight - with little snippers in hand - and harvested my very first treasure to sink my teeth into. My friend Lindsey gave me some lettuce seeds to throw in the garden early Spring and to be honest, I wasn't all that excited about them, at least not in the same way I was my bell peppers, tomatoes and herbs, but...................

Wow. This was an amazing little salad I made up with my leafy greens. My mother-in-law came over for some pizza and I whipped us up a salad that we both agreed was SO amazing and SO fresh and natural tasting. I may be a lettuce fanatic in my garden now. Lindsey wasn't sure what type of lettuce it was, but I think it was red or green leaf lettuce. Seriously folks - it was so fun to go outside and cut this out and place in a bowl and devour. Awesome!

We had a little Spring concert today at Little Girl's school and it was so fun watching her sing with her classmates and do all these silly motions to the songs. I won't say that watching the other 600 classes and their sweet little songs didn't make me want to poke my eyes out, so I just won't say that. :-)

I know I promised you all a recipe from back over Easter when I made some No Bake Graham Cracker Cookies - courtesy from my mom's recipe box. Head over to MY Recipe Box so you can make them to!

I'm off to fold laundry, do dishes and other domestic duties. Pray that I don't succumb to sitting on the couch and eating cheez-its instead. You know I want to!!

I love harvest time!!! I was in the middle of making a recipe the other day and I really need onions (which I forgot to buy at the store) and then I remembered I had some out in the garden. It was so nice and handy to just trot out there and pick a couple!

Go with the cheez-its...laundry isn't all it's cracked up to be. :)
