Memorial Weekend

So, I mentioned that I would post my Swiss Cheese & Bacon Quiche recipe this week and then I realized that I already have it over at The Recipe Box.

If this looks appealing to you - you may want to go get the recipe, like, right this minute.

I also may have mentioned something regarding these little babies and I posted them too. Here's the link over on my recipe blog.

We had an eventful Memorial Weekend. David spent most of his time in Joplin, Mo helping out with a church there that needed assistance after the devastating tornadoes that came through there last weekend. David kept sharing story after story with me of horrible tragedy and I didn't know if I could hear any more. Please keep praying for the families who have lost loved ones, or their homes, or who are praying healing over their injured family members. God knows and He hears us.

Since LG & BB & I were home, we attempted to stay busy and keep things rolling to make it through the weekend with more fun than tears if you know what I mean. I finally broke down and let them get in their messy sandbox and water table and while I was on the phone for about 15 minutes, this is what I find these 2 doing in the LID of the sandbox.

I guess they decided we needed a "pool" and this was their best option to cool off. OH my word the filthy-ness!! Of course, LG is covered in sand. This is the only way she knows how to roll.

They were happy though, and therefore mommy tried to be happy too and let them play for several hours outside in their sand pit/pool. The night was polished off with showers and bedtime stories and squeeky clean kids. My favorite.

I hope you all had a fun and blessed weekend. I will see you all tomorrow night!

Sometimes I find it hard to be happy about my family members going to minister to others, when I would rather have them with me :( ! I know it is selfishness....but still it is hard.
