Big Day!

Today is our court hearing to make Baby Boy an official family member.

Tonight is my big Baby Shower that my buddy Julie is throwing me in Missouri.

Tomorrow we get to FINALLY head back home to Indy.

It's a Big Day and a Big Week!!!

The brood is just now waking up (Yes - it is around 9:15 a.m., so I am sure you are confused, but let me clarify - Little girl is still back with Grandma in Missouri - thus the sleeping in until 9:15). :-)

Last night wasn't too terrible, but it wasn't sleeping beauty's night's sleep either. We are still surviving the sleep wars and Baby Boy wins every time.

We stayed in some apartments last night above the adoption agency and girl's home where our sweet birth mom lived throughout her pregnancy. As I look around and know that she lived here, it makes me wish I could've been a little fly on the wall to watch her and get to know her that way so I could have maybe more insight into my son. As an adoptive mommy, I am always keenly aware that there is someone out there who is so very connected to my child through biology and genetics and it makes me want to know them better as to anticipate my child in certain ways. Obviously, my kids are their own little people and I do believe that they are going to be who they are largely because of how they are "nurtured", but I think it's cool to see what they pick up on in life, not by seeing it done, but because it is just in them to do so, like......love pizza with extra onions or to really be a whiz at board games (ya know - or something like that) .

I can't wait to see what Little Girl and Baby Boy turn in to in life. I know they will both be something great and something with great purpose - and that my friends - is all because of their Heavenly Father and Creator who loves them even more than I do.
