Well, the cable came back on this morning - thank you Lord!!!!! If anyone knows what it is like to be feeding a baby constantly and also trying to entertain your 3 year old, well, cable is just a necessity - let me tell you.
So, we did the happy, happy, joy, joy dance when we saw "Word World" appear on our screen this morning after Little Girl woke up. We decided to see if the internet was back as well. Now, we don't just have the wireless in the duplex, so I have to drive around the corner and sit in my van under the canopy to the chapel to get a signal. Well - I have one!!!! Yippeee!!!
If you are in Arkansas - just be looking for the girl in the green Honda Odyssey with her laptop and a piece of foil on her finger waving it in the wind.
(Did that joke make sense? Are any of you laughing right now or just looking at your screen in confusion. Oh well- you can't hit em' all outta the park!" :-)
Anyhoo
Right now we have at least this bit of internet connection and for that - we are thrilled. There is no rain today, so we are planning on hitting some walking trails with the 2 kiddos and staying around the duplex. Plus - our friends "the Wilsons" are coming to see us tonight and we couldn't be more excited. They are staying the night with their youngin's and Reagan is by far one of Little Girl's Bestest friends! :-)
No car rides today.
Well, except to go get internet. We're not crazy.
Little girl is behind me throwing her Chuckee Cheese coins in the air and losing most of them I'm sure. Do you see me flinching? I've got priorities here, and whatever makes my baby happy - ya know? I'm just that kind of mom.
Ok. This post is getting strange, so I am going to write what I wanted to say to everyone. Thank you for all your hilarious comments. Thank you for all your funny text messages throughout my days and thank you for the emails! You don't know how fun it is for me to feel connected to you all still in some way while we are having this adventure somewhat alone out in the sticks. I smile when I see all your names pop up on my screen and enjoy your witty comments more than you know! If you know me - then you know my friends are my life. I love you all to pieces!
Michael is doing great by the way and eating like a horse. The only issues we are really having is that this little guy thinks night is day and day is night. I have never seen a baby look so excited to see 6:00 a.m. come around and then go "Yeah - now I feel like sleepin'!" I have tried all the josseling and undressing him and all that good stuff to keep him awake in the evenings, but it only works for a moment and he is back out again. I am being told it gets better after the first few weeks. Am I getting true info here? (only people who will tell me good things can respond - be willing to lie.) Good thing Little Girl doesn't hear a peep and just sleeps the night away. I am thankful for that.
Thanks for sharing in all this with me and thanks for adding to my joy with all your words of encouragement. I promise more pics are coming soon. We have just been "makin' it" the last couple of days and I haven't been doing tons of photo ops. Nobody wants to see what this girl looks like right now anyway. Oh - yeah - I guess you guys only want to see the babies any way! I'll get on that!
Only 11 days left in this random state of wonder! Yay!

The foil on your finger comment was hysterical. I was laughing out loud! I'm so glad you have cable back. That should make some of the day go by a little quicker. As for baby getting his days and nights mixed up, that's normal. In a few weeks he'll be awake a lot more during the day. Well, sounds like your doing a great job! Can't wait to meet him!
I think the days and nights thing is pretty normal. Both of my girls did it. I thought my life would never be the same again, but then gradually it was. Thank the Lord. I love hearing about your Arkansas adventures and keep trying to figure out by your clues if your anywhere near my in-laws. My girls were both born in AR too. They have that in common with your boy.
Michael is clearly exhibiting signs of genius...he gets Mommy all to himself ALL NIGHT LONG no wonder he is staying up! He has to share you during the day so why not just sleep till everyone else is in bed! He's working the system...
Have you considered that maybe the extra leftover radiation from the foil finger is making your milk super charged? Is it any shade of neon? Just offering Ideas?
Kara~ so glad things are going so well with you! I can't wait to see baby Michael!
I totally got the foil finger comment. Hilarious!
Hope the whole septic thing is cleared up and glad to hear you're able to get out a bit for some fresh air.
The day/night thing is totally normal and it will get better! Hang in there mama!
You're doing great! He WILL sleep at night...eventually...I promise. :o) How is the breast feeding going?
LOL at natalie's comment!
